Welcoming New Faces to the Board
The 2025 board brings together a diverse mix of skills, experience, and perspectives from across the sporting and professional landscape of Tasmania.
Mackensie Belbin is an experienced sports administrator passionate about building strong sporting communities. Currently the Marketing, Brand and Operations Coordinator at the Tasmania Football Club, Mackensie also serves on the Athletics Tasmania Board and has worked across the University of Tasmania and Targa Australia. A former state sprint champion and Pierre de Coubertin Olympic Award recipient, she brings both athletic insight and professional expertise, alongside a strong personal connection to triathlon through her partner, professional Ironman Will Clarke.
Andrew Berry is a physiotherapist, triathlon coach, and accomplished age-group athlete who has represented South Africa at the World Triathlon Championships and will compete again in Wollongong in 2025. Drawing on leadership experience through the Australian Physiotherapy Association and a background in sports coaching, Andrew brings valuable insight into athlete development, performance, and participation growth in Tasmania.
Kym Child is a legal practitioner at the State Litigation Office and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors course. With a dual background as a registered nurse and extensive governance experience across multiple tribunals and health organisations, Kym brings a wealth of professional expertise to the board. An active triathlete, she is passionate about giving back to the community that inspired her to take on new challenges and cross new finish lines.
Celebrating a Life Member: Mark Blake
A standout moment of the AGM was the awarding of Life Membership to Mark Blake in recognition of his outstanding and longstanding contribution to triathlon in Tasmania. For more than a decade, Mark has been a cornerstone of the sport, serving tirelessly at both the club level and as a Technical Official. His reliability, generosity, and passion have left an enduring legacy, embodying the very spirit of triathlon.
As Triathlon Tasmania looks ahead to the coming year, the organisation remains committed to supporting clubs, athletes, and volunteers who make the sport so special. With renewed energy and a strong board in place, 2025 promises to be another exciting chapter in the story of Tasmanian triathlon.
