NSW State Duathlon Championships Wrap-Up

27 Jan 2026

Sydney Motorsport Park once again delivered a spectacular backdrop for one of the most distinctive events on the NSW triathlon calendar — the NSW State Duathlon Championships.

Under the glow of the floodlights and on one of the smoothest racing surfaces in the State, athletes took on the classic run–ride–run format in pursuit of State Championship titles and valuable Interclub points, with both Sydney One and Sydney Premier Interclub Leagues counting this as a points round.

The atmosphere was electric. Every athlete on the start line contributing to this, whether through outright speed, gritty determination, or simply showing up for their club.

Cronulla Triathlon Club showed up as a wave of blue, white, and black, fielding the largest squad of the night. Panthers, Concord, Pulse Performance, Warringah and STG also made their presence felt with strong turnouts and some standout performances. Just as exciting was the representation from further across the State: Central Coast young-guns powered, picking up three of the top steps; and we spotted suits in the crowd from Mudgee Red Devil to Scone – adding a splash of regional representation to the mix.

A huge thanks goes to the team at Panthers Triathlon Club, who delivered a seamless event with amazing energy from start to finish. Their work behind the scenes and on the ground ensured the night ran smoothly and kept the atmosphere buzzing!

Congratulations to all athletes who took on the course – it’s a tough one (I know I raced it) and showed both club spirit and genuine triathlon spirit. The finish chute was lined with supporters right until the final competitor crossed the line, a reminder of everything we love about this community.
