The 2026 World Triathlon Championship Finals in Pontevedra, Spain delivered an unforgettable week for our Australian Age Group Team, with athletes proudly wearing the green and gold on the world stage.
After making the journey across the globe, competitors embraced every opportunity that championship week had to offer, from chasing personal bests and podium finishes to forming new friendships and creating lifelong memories alongside teammates.
Across the Championships, Australian athletes competed in:
- Sprint Distance Triathlon
- Standard Distance Triathlon
- Standard Distance Aquabike
- Mixed Team Relay
The week produced some outstanding performances, highlighted by three World Championship victories and a host of podium finishes across multiple age groups.

Beyond the podium performances, Australian athletes delivered outstanding results across every event and age category. From personal bests and top 10 finishes to courageous performances against the world’s best, every athlete played a part in making Pontevedra a memorable championship for the green and gold
A Celebration of Australian Triathlon:
While the medals and podium finishes were certainly worth celebrating, they tell only part of the story. Throughout the week, athletes supported one another, shared in each other’s successes, and represented Australia with pride, sportsmanship and determination.
