What an unforgettable day of racing at the Ballarat Duathlon last Friday.
With Victorian Duathlon State Championship titles on the line, Age Group World Championship qualification opportunities up for grabs, and the opening race of the Victorian Regional Series, there was plenty at stake as athletes took on a fantastic day of racing in Ballarat.
Nearly 200 athletes lined up ready to test themselves, producing impressive performances across all categories. From competitors chasing championship honours and qualification points to those simply taking on a new challenge, the determination and spirit on display made for a memorable event.
Of course, events like these wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of our volunteers. More than 40 volunteers gave their time to help bring the event to life, creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring athletes enjoyed a safe and enjoyable race experience. Their enthusiasm and dedication are at the heart of what makes our sport so special.
The Ballarat Duathlon once again showcased everything that makes regional racing great, bringing together athletes, clubs, volunteers, supporters and the local community for a day of competition, connection and fun.
As the first event of the 2025/26 Victorian Regional Series, Ballarat has set the tone for what promises to be another fantastic season of regional racing. We now look ahead to Bendigo on the 25th of October, where the next chapter of the series awaits.
Congratulations to all athletes, our newly crowned Victorian Duathlon State Champions, those who secured Age Group World Championship qualification opportunities, our volunteers, supporters and the Ballarat Triathlon Club for making the day such a success.
