2024/25 Triathlon Pink Series Gets Underway with Record Numbers in Brisbane

30 Oct 2024

The Ramsay Health Care Triathlon Pink Series kick started in Brisbane on Saturday 26 October with record numbers of participants showing their support at Sleeman Sports Complex.

815 Queensland women came dressed in pink to help raise awareness for breast cancer, almost an increase of 200 participants since the last event in October 2024.

Of these women, 68% were first time competitors at a Triathlon Pink event, with half of all competitors never having competed in a triathlon previously.

By also engaging 150 children in the event, the race highlightsthe role events play in empowering generations and creating change.

Since starting Triathlon Pink seventeen years ago, the event has raised over $2.5million for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, a fact Chelsea Downey from The Event Crew is extremely proud of.

In line with the organisation’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, AusTriathlon is proud to partner with The Event Crew for a second year, to support more women finding their unstoppable in triathlon and multisport.

“We are excited to continue to build on the partnership between Triathlon Pink and AusTriathlon; a genuine alliance that believes in the spirit of inclusivity and empowerment for women in triathlon,” Downey said.

“Our collaboration not only opens doors for women across the nation to participate in triathlons for the first time, but also creates a supportive community where women can achieve and celebrate their participation in something they might have once thought out of reach.

“We believe that through this partnership, we are not just promoting a sport but fostering a movement that encourages women to embrace their strength, and believe in their own potential.”
