Oceania Triathlon Announces 2026 Championship Calendar

Oceania Triathlon has unveiled the 2026 Oceania Championships Calendar, delivering a dynamic season of racing for Elite, Para, U23 and Junior athletes across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. The calendar features the return of key championship venues, including Napier/Hastings, Devonport and Runaway Bay. As well as the long-awaited comeback of a World Triathlon-sanctioned event in Auckland, marking a significant milestone for the sport in New Zealand.

Auckland which will host the Oceania Paratriathlon Championships and Continental Cup on March 29. Auckland last staged a World Triathlon-sanctioned event in 2017, following a historic run of elite competitions including the 2012 World Triathlon Grand Final. For Tri NZ and the wider community, the event’s return to the ‘09’ marks a milestone moment.

“Just as we’re excited to be going back to Napier and Hastings in 2026, the sport’s return to Auckland is a significant moment for Tri NZ,” said Tri NZ CEO Pete de Wet. “Combined with rising participation numbers in the Tri NZ Suzuki Series, bringing a major event back to Auckland shows that the sport is gaining real traction. It offers our largest age-group community and those who want to race in Auckland, a truly inspirational event to aim for.”

The season blends high-performance racing with important development opportunities, with two Development Regional Cups in Guam and Tahiti expanding pathways for emerging athletes across the Oceania region. Across sprint, standard and super-sprint formats, the 2026 calendar showcases the breadth of racing available and reinforces Oceania’s reputation as a world-class triathlon destination.

2026 Oceania Triathlon Championships Calendar

  • March 1–2: Oceania Sprint Championships & Mixed Relay (Napier & Hastings, NZ)

  • March 13–15: Oceania Standard Distance Championships (Devonport, Tasmania, AUS)

  • March 21: Development Regional Cup (Guam)

  • March 29: Oceania Paratriathlon Championships & Continental Cup (Auckland, NZ)

  • April 18–19: Oceania Super Sprint Championships (Runaway Bay, Queensland, AUS)

  • August 29: Development Regional Cup (Tahiti)

With high-profile returns, exciting new opportunities, and a strong spread of events across the region, the 2026 Oceania Triathlon Calendar is set to deliver one of the most compelling and competitive seasons yet.
