2025 Australian Age Group Championships unveiled

AusTriathlon is excited to announce the 2025 Australian Age Group Championships calendar, featuring a thrilling line-up of triathlon and multisport events across the nation.

Two of Australia’s most iconic triathlon events will join the Australian Age Group Championships calendar, with the Gold Coast Triathlon set to host the Sprint Championships and the Mooloolaba Triathlon welcoming the Standard Aquabike Championships.

Several beloved events are making their return to the calendar:

• TreX Triathlon will once again host the Cross Triathlon Championships in the Snowy Mountains, and the Cross Duathlon Championships in the Sunshine Coast.

• The Long Distance Championships makes its return to the iconic IRONMAN 70.3 Geelong, alongside the Long Distance Aquabike Championships.

• Western Sydney’s Redline Games will once again showcase triathlon’s fastest format in an action-packed Super Sprint Championships.

• The Standard Championships will make its return to Wollongong, promising to kick off a huge year of triathlon in the city.

• The calendar will reach its fitting finale in Canberra, as the nation’s capital hosts the Standard Duathlon Championships.

The Sprint Duathlon Championships and Aquathlon Championships are yet to be confirmed and will be announced at a later date.

To be eligible for the Australian Championships titles athletes must hold a current AusTriathlon Standard or Premium membership by Thursday midnight prior to the event. 

The Sprint, Standard, and Standard Distance Aquabike Championships present invaluable opportunities for athletes striving to represent Australia at the 2025 World Triathlon Age Group Championships in Wollongong, with double selection points on offer and automatic qualification awarded to the top five finishers in each age group category.

For selection points in an event to count towards selection an athlete must hold a current Relevant AusTriathlon (Standard and or Premium) Membership as of midnight on the Thursday preceding the date of the relevant selection event. To validate automatic qualification, athletes must meet all the eligibility criteria as outlined in the  2025 Australian Age Group Triathlon Team Selection Policy.
