AusTriathlon is proud to announce that Olympic medallist, Erin Densham will be inducted into the AusTriathlon Hall of Fame at the 2025 AusTriathlon Annual Awards on Friday 29 November at RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast.
One of the most dynamic athletes in modern Australian triathlon, Densham forged a career defined by resilience, technical brilliance, and world-class results on the sport’s biggest stages.
A three-time Olympian (Beijing 2008, London 2012, Rio 2016), Densham claimed a bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games in a thrilling sprint finish.
Across an elite career featuring 93 ITU World Triathlon starts, Densham earned 24 podiums, 13 wins, and was renowned for her exceptional run ability, ranking among a small group of women to post run splits within 10 per cent of men’s winning times at major championships, a benchmark reached by only a handful of athletes in history.
Densham’s journey is also one of extraordinary perseverance. She battled undiagnosed glandular fever through the 2008 Olympics, underwent heart surgery in 2009 for SVT after being pulled from a race in distress, and overcame further major health setbacks to return to the top tier of the sport.
Beyond results, she remains widely respected for her impact on the sport’s community for shaping the next generation of collegiate talent in the USA and mentoring young female athletes.
AusTriathlon CEO Tim Harradine said Densham’s induction recognises her competitive excellence and dedication to the sport.
“Erin is one of the most inspiring athletes in Australian triathlon history,” Harradine said.
“As an athlete who raced with fierce determination, her achievements and resilience embody everything the Hall of Fame stands for.”
The 2025 AusTriathlon Annual Awards will celebrate the best of Australian triathlon, honouring athletes, coaches, volunteers, and contributors who have shaped the sport.
