AusTriathlon is proud to unveil two landmark strategies – Our Participation Plan (2024-2032) and the 2032+ High Performance Strategy – designed to strengthen the sport from grassroots to elite competition, ensuring a thriving future for triathlon in Australia.

Our Participation Plan (2024-2032) and the 2032+ High Performance Strategy create a comprehensive roadmap from triathlon clubs and enticer events to Olympic and Paralympic podiums. Endorsed by the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), both plans position the sport to capitalise on the Green and Gold Runway to Brisbane 2032.

With a focus on both participation and elite success, AusTriathlon Chief Executive Officer Tim Harradine emphasised the role these strategies play in shaping the sport’s future.

“Triathlon is a sport for all, and these strategies work hand in hand to ensure every athlete and participant – whether they’re taking their first steps in the sport or striving for international success – has the support they need to thrive,” Harradine said.

‘With Brisbane 2032 on the horizon, we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to inspire the next wave of Australian triathletes. These strategies position us to make the most of this moment and build a lasting legacy.”

Building a Thriving Triathlon Community

With a bold vision to support over 200,000 Australians in finding their starting line, Our Participation Plan lays the foundation for an inclusive, diverse, and accessible sporting community.

Focused on increasing engagement across participants, clubs, coaches, officials, and event providers, the plan aligns with the ASC’s PlayWell strategy to drive long-term growth.

Paving the Pathway to the Podium

Our 2032+ High Performance Strategy is our commitment to delivering, sustained, world-class performances at the LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. At the heart of this strategy is the alignment to the AIS’ Australia’s High Performance 2032+ ‘Win Well’ Strategy, ensuring holistic athlete development, integrity, and a high performance culture.

By fostering a winning culture, optimising pathways, and strengthening athlete development, the strategy ensures Australia’s elite triathletes have the support and resources needed to compete at the highest level.
