On International Womens Day (Friday 8th March), NSW Triathlon announced the third and final iteration of the Inspire 2 Tri (I2T) program.

The program has a proven track record of addressing identified barriers to female coaches progressing, with the lofty goal of inspiring the next generation of female coaches in NSW. NSW Triathlon remains deeply thankful of the funding receive via the NSW Office Of Sport, Her Sport Her Way grant program, without it would not be possible.

Offering free leadership and mentoring programs for new Foundation female coaches and supporting our current crop of foundation female coaches to progress through to the Development level, its designed to empower and support females in NSW.

We are proud to advise that currently, after two years of investment, the Foundation level is almost gender balanced in NSW with 46% identifying as female.  The inaugural intake of Development Coaches last year increased female Development coaches in NSW from 23% to 31% and after the second year of program, the percentage of female Development Level coaches to 40%.

However, the Performance Level is still very male dominant with 75% being male and TEN (10) Female Performance Coaches in NSW.

Supported by esteemed NSW Development and Performance coaches, bring valuable experience, lead the program. They are accompanied by exceptional guest speakers from various sports providing inspiration and insights. The program goes beyond, offering additional learning opportunities to coaches including Strength and Conditioning accreditation as well as presenting and assessing courses.

The program has been built on long term sustainability and embedding female leaders into our community as the norm, not the exception.

More then 50 women have become part of the Inspire 2 Tri community, and we are now seeking Expressions of Interest from ladies keen to take part in 2023/2024.

NSW Triathlon is now seeking Expressions of Interest for ladies keen to take part in this years intake.
