Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, Northern Territory and Tasmania have been part of AusTriathlon’s Operating Model since its inception in 2022, with ACT now the sixth State and Territory Triathlon Association (STTA) to join.
As part of the OM, ACT Triathlon joins a single management structure which includes operations, administration of finance, marketing, communications and technology.
AusTriathlon and ACT Triathlon will work collaboratively to ensure services, programs and initiatives are aligned nationally and delivered locally for ACT Triathlon members, clubs and their community.
AusTriathlon CEO Tim Harradine said, “Our strategic plan unites our sport through a shared purpose, vision and values, as we seek to leverage the green and gold runway to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“We are focused on creating a happier, healthier and more connected nation through triathlon and multisport experiences, and it’s great to be working more closely with ACT Triathlon to deliver that.
“I’d like to thank ACT Triathlon President Lara Lever and the ACT Triathlon board for their support as we begin this transition, and look forward to working together as we continue to strive towards our long term goal of over 200,000 Australians on starting lines annually by 2032,” he said.
ACT Triathlon President Lara Lever said: “We’re excited to take this next step, and work together with AusTriathlon to leverage national support and programs for our operations, and as a result, continue to grow our community throughout the ACT.”
AusTriathlon will host an engagement session for clubs in the ACT in line with The Capital Duathlon, Canberra’s premier multisport event, set to be held on Sunday 13 October. More information will be available on this session soon.
