AusTriathlon is proud to partner with The Event Crew and Triathlon Pink to foster and champion, women and girls participation in triathlon.

As part of the partnership, AusTriathlon will hold their inaugural Women in Triathlon Summit on Saturday, 24 February at the Gold Coast Performance Centre, Runaway Bay at the Gold Coast edition of the series.

Triathlon Pink hosts annual events across various major cities around the country, with a focus on reducing barriers of entry for women and girls and providing the perfect introduction or return to triathlon. Triathlon Pink provide an environment for all ages and abilities to participate and connect with the sport.

Offering a pool swim, closed roads and access to venues in cities including Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Canberra, the event series helps women and girls to take part in triathlon – individually or as part of a team – and celebrate a healthy and active lifestyle.

Supported by Ramsay Health Care, Triathlon Pink has also raised more than $2.4 million for charity partner the National Breast Cancer Foundation since its inception in 2007.

AusTriathlon Ambassadors will support first time participants at Triathlon Pink events across the country, offering assistance with enquiries and providing support to participants unfamiliar with triathlon events

AusTriathlon Chief Executive Officer, Tim Harradine, highlighted the significance of the partnership and its aim to encourage greater participation among females in the sport.

“Engaging and retaining women across all aspects of our sport is a key priority for us to see continued growth,” said Harradine.

“Triathlon Pink has introduced so many women to our sport and our partnership with The Event Crew to support the success of Triathlon Pink is an important step in encouraging more women and girls to participate.”

AusTriathlon General Manager of Sport Services, Alex Anasson, is excited to see one of the first of AusTriathlon’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives come to life.

“From our data, we know women love participating in triathlon, however it can be a challenge to continue to participate post-pregnancy.” Anasson said.

“Triathlon Pink provides a great opportunity for women around the country to take part, sometimes alongside their kids, and we hope through our support, we can reach more women and show them how swim, bike and run can change their lives.”
