AusTriathlon is pleased to announce the election of Luke Willian and Jeremy Peacock to the Elite Athletes’ Commission (EAC), and the appointment of Liam Twomey as Chair.

The Elite Athletes’ Commission offers guidance to the AusTriathlon Board on issues directly affecting elite athletes, furnishing leadership and direction in matters specifically related to their needs and concerns.

Luke Willian, a 2018 Commonwealth Games representative, boasts multiple World Cup wins and has regularly represented Australia at World Triathlon Championship Series events since 2016. He holds a Bachelor of Business, Majoring in Finance and Accounting from the Queensland University of Technology.

Jeremy Peacock, a PTS4 para triathlete, is a multiple World Para Triathlon Series medallist. He also works as an Associate Director at KPMG and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from Bond University.

The pair will join existing EAC members Liam Twomey, David Bryant PLY, Emma Jeffcoat OLY and Charlotte McShane, while Nic Beveridge PLY concludes his tenure on the Commission.

Along with the additions of Willian and Peacock, Liam Twomey has been appointed as the new Chair, succeeding the outgoing Beveridge.

Twomey, a PTS4 para triathlete, is a World Triathlon Para Cup medallist. He serves as an ambassador for Black Dog Institute and the Challenge Cancer Support Network. He is also an advocate for the VIS Be Fit Be Well Program and AIS Mental Fitness Program, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at Deakin University.

Twomey was quick to thank the outgoing Chair and highlighted his enthusiasm about the Commission’s future with the addition of the two new members.

“On behalf of the Elite Athletes’ Commission I would like to thank our outgoing Chair and member, Nic Beveridge, for his contributions and tireless hard work to the Commission.” Twomey said.

“We’re excited to welcome Luke and Jeremy to the Commission, who will bring their own experiences and backgrounds to enhance our efforts in supporting our elite athletes.”
